Job description

About the team

This is an exciting opportunity for a high performing disputes lawyer to join our Brisbane litigation practice.

Our Dispute Resolution & Litigation practice in Brisbane is a dynamic group with a diverse range of interesting work, and a place for lawyers to further develop, grow and be part of a genuine team. Our work includes acting for state and federal governments, regulated entities and listed entities and SMEs. Our partners all have areas of expertise and industry leadership that each of our team members get to experience.

About the role

We seek a motivated disputes lawyer to join our team, contributing to a complex and critical matter for the Commonwealth Government alongside colleagues in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Canberra. This position offers the opportunity to engage directly with the client while thriving in both autonomous work and team-based collaboration.

Although your primary focus will be on the important Commonwealth matter, we are seeking a commercial litigator with experience in complex commercial and regulatory disputes to support the broader disputes team.

While experience working with government agencies at the State or Federal level would be an asset, it is not a requirement, and we encourage those without this experience to apply.

About you

You will be an engaged and driven lawyer with a genuine desire to continually improve and deliver outstanding results for your clients. You will have excellent communication and drafting skills, enjoy a busy work environment and thrive in a collaborative work culture. You will be a skilled lawyer with outstanding technical ability and a desire to help those around you.

In addition, you will have :
  • 1 to 2 years PAE with experience gained as a commercial litigator in a well-regarded litigation practice.
  • Experience in general commercial disputes.
  • Prior experience in investigations and / or government disputes work will be a bonus.
  • Superior analytical, research and drafting skills.

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented lawyer to join a successful team and advance their career in the law.
