Job summary

Southern Cross Community Healthcare – Roselands NSW is seeking a Disability Support Worker to support a ventilated 58-year-old male at home in Roselands. You will be part of a dedicated team enabling high-quality, person-centred care in a family setting.

The role requires Cantonese language ability and knowledge of Chinese culture and Christian faith-based practices. Training is provided; qualification checks and essential certificates are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Cantonese language ability and cultural understanding preferred.
• NDIS-related experience and qualifications required.
• First Aid and background checks are mandatory.
• Certificate III or equivalent is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Manage tracheostomy and ventilation support.
• Administer medications as prescribed.
• Assist with mobility and daily living activities.
• Provide light domestic assistance and meal preparation.

We are currently seeking aDisability Support Workerwho lives in and around the Roselands area to support a 58-year-old ventilated male who lives at home with his family.

In line with the participant's NDIS goals and right to choice and control, the participant has expressed a preference for support workers who can communicate in Cantonese and who have an understanding of Chinese culture and Christian faith-based practices that are important to their daily life and routines.

Applicants who can speak Cantonese and have experience supporting participants from Chinese and/or Christian backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

While these attributes are highly regarded to meet the participant's preferences, all applications will be considered based on experience, qualifications, skills, and the ability to provide high-quality person-centred support.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Management of tracheostomy and ventilation
• Medication administration
