Job summary

Life Without Barriers is seeking a dedicated Support Worker in Chinchilla to assist a person with disability in daily activities and community participation.

You will share interests such as fishing, BBQs, movies and events, providing active support and person-centred care in a permanent part-time role with 1–2 day shifts per week (2–5 hours per shift) and occasional Saturdays.

Qualifications

  • Interest in fishing, BBQs and movies.
  • Experience working with people with disability.
  • Passionate about active support.
  • Experience with mobility support and manual handling.
  • Strong computer and verbal and written communication skills.
  • A current First Aid and CPR Certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans.
  • Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities.
  • Maintain thorough record keeping.
  • Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues.

About the Role

Joining our team in Chinchilla, you will support a person with disability who accesses our community access services.

The person you will be supporting enjoys fishing, BBQ’s, movies and attending events and markets and is looking for a support worker who shares these interests and is passionate about active support.

You will join the team on a permanent part-time basis of 1–2-day shifts per week between 2-5 hours in length. There is flexibility in days worked Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.
