Job summary

Southern Cross Community Healthcare – Dural NSW is hiring a Disability Support Worker to assist a 60-year-old male with brain injury and paraplegia, enabling independent living at home. The role includes medication administration, personal care, mobility support, and community access, with training provided.

The position offers various shifts across 24/7 coverage and requires a valid driver's license, NDIS Worker’s Check, Working With Children Check, and First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• Previous care experience required.
• Current driver's license and your own car.
• NDIS Worker's Check or willingness to obtain.
• Working With Children's Check or willingness to obtain.
• First Aid certificate (HLTAID011 or higher) or willingness to obtain.
• Certificate III in Aged/Disability or another relevant field (mandatory).

Responsibilities

• Medication administration.
• Assistance with allied health tasks and therapy tasks.
• Manual handling and use of mobility equipment.
• Meal preparation and household tasks.
• Documentation and reporting.
• Community access; must be able to drive a modified vehicle.

Duties include but not not limited to:

• Medication administration

• Manual handling and use of mobility equipment
  
• Meal preparation and household domestic tasks
  
• Documentation and reporting
• Community access- need to drive modified vehicle
  
• Assistance with personal care and hygiene tasks

You will be supported by qualified healthcare professionals and would get the necessary training and skills to do the best job you can.

This is program is attended to by support workers 24/7, so there are a variety of shifts available. Currently, we are seeking someone available:

• Mondays 8am-5pm
  
• Fortnightly on Tuesdays 9am-11am
