Job summary

Wesley Mission Queensland Limited in Queensland, Australia, is seeking a dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our Specialist Disability Accommodation team. You will provide personal care, daily living support, and help residents build independence through person-centred activities.

Under RN supervision, you’ll work across shifts, support community access, and collaborate with a caring team to deliver safe, respectful, and meaningful care that makes a real difference in people’s lives.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Disability support or equivalent is required.
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence with full insurance.
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or willingness to obtain.
• Current First Aid & CPR.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and daily living support (meals, hygiene, household tasks).
• Support individuals to build independence and life skills.
• Assist with community access and participation.

About the role

Join Wesley Mission Queensland as a Disability Support Worker in our Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) team.

This is hands-on, meaningful work where you support vulnerable people with disability to build independence in their everyday lives.

In this role, you will:

• Led by Registered Nurses

• Trained to practice High Intensity Supports (i.e. Dysphasia management, Epilepsy, Tracheostomy).

• Provide personal care and daily living support (meals, hygiene, household tasks)

• Support individuals to build independence and life skills

• Assist with community access and participation

• Work collaboratively with a team to deliver active supports and, person-centred care

What your day can look like

No two days are the same. You might:

• Help someone cook their first independent meal

• Support a resident to confidently leave home and access the community

• Deliver responsive support to individuals with complex needs, ensuring they feel safe and supported.

• Build trust through everyday routines, conversations, and shared activities

Permanent DSW Pay Rates:

• Mon-Fri (AM shifts): $36.22/hr

• Mon-Fri (Afternoon shifts): $40.75/hr

• Mon-Fri (Night shifts): $41.65/hr

• Saturday: $54.33/hr

• Sunday: $72.44/hr

• Public Holidays: $90.55/hr

• Sleepover allowance: $62.11

Requirements
