Job summary

Wesley Mission Queensland in Cannon Hill, Brisbane, is seeking a dedicated Disability Support Worker to assist residents with daily living, meals and personal care, helping them build independence and life skills. You will support community access, work collaboratively with a team, and deliver person-centred care in a not-for-profit service.

We offer on-site parking, career progression across internal disability programs, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Disability support or equivalent.
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence with full comprehensive insurance.
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or willingness to obtain.
• Current First Aid & CPR.

Job description

Wesley Mission Queensland – Cannon Hill QLD

In this role, you will:

• Led by Registered Nurses
• Trained to practice High Intensity Supports (i.e. Dysphasia management, Epilepsy, Tracheostomy).
• Provide personal care and daily living support (meals, hygiene, household tasks)
• Support individuals to build independence and life skills
• Assist with community access and participation
• Work collaboratively with a team to deliver active supports and, person-centred care

• Help someone cook their first independent meal
• Support a resident to confidently leave home and access the community
• Deliver responsive support to individuals with complex needs, ensuring they feel safe and supported.
• Build trust through everyday routines, conversations, and shared activities

Permanent DSW Pay Rates:

• Mon–Fri (AM shifts): $34.58/hr
• Mon–Fri (Afternoon shifts): $38.90/hr
• Mon–Fri (Night shifts): $39.77/hr
• Saturday: $51.87/hr
• Sunday: $69.16/hr
• Public Holidays: $86.45/hr

Requirements

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent

• Ability to work across Tewantin and Maroochydore locations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
