Job summary

The Department for Education, Children and Young People (DECYP) in Tasmania seeks a senior leader to oversee custodial youth justice services and drive major reform at Ashley Youth Detention Centre. You will provide strategic direction, manage external stakeholders and lead implementation of the Commission of Inquiry recommendations and the Youth Justice Reform Strategy.

• Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People, RWVP inEmployment status.
• Pre-employment checks include identity, criminal history and disciplinary actions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee custodial youth justice services and safety of young people.
• Provide leadership during transition to a new Youth Justice Facility.
• Engage external stakeholders and ensure two-way communication with the public.
