Job summary

Northern Territory Government through the Water Resources Division seeks a Director Water Assessment, a senior professional to lead scientific assessment and modelling of water resources in the Territory. You will guide a multi-disciplinary team and provide strategic advice on water plans and licences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or Applied/Natural Sciences.
• Experience leading a multi-disciplinary team of water scientists and specialists.
• Extensive knowledge of water resource management and assessment methodologies.
• Familiarity with surface water, groundwater and water quality assessment practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage the scientific assessment, investigation, monitoring and modelling of the Territory's water resources.
• Provide strategic leadership and scientific advice for water plans, extraction licences and related programmes.
• Contribute to the scientific underpinning of water plans and projects.
