The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) invites applications for the role of Director, Strategic Insights, EL2, Data and Intelligence. You will lead a new capability that uses data, intelligence, research and emerging technologies to identify risks and opportunities across the economy before they are widely visible.

What you willdo as the Director StrategicInsights:

AsDirector, Strategic Insights, you will lead the development of anew capability that uses data, intelligence, research and emergingtechnologies to identify risks and opportunities across the economybefore they are widely visible. You will work on some ofthe mostcomplex and consequential issues facing consumers and businesses,leading a multidisciplinary team and influencing agency prioritiesat the highest levels. This is a rare opportunity to buildsomething new, drive innovation in regulatory practice and deliverinsights that help shape the ACCC's future regulatory, complianceand enforcement agenda.

• Establish and leada new strategic capability that helps the ACCC identifyemerging risks, market issues and potential misconduct beforethey become formal complaints, investigations or marketinterventions.
• Lead amultidisciplinary team of intelligence, analytics and otherspecialists to deliver high-impact insight products that informagency priorities and decision-making.
• Drive innovation inregulatory intelligence and detection, leveraging data,technology, artificial intelligence and new information sourcesto strengthen the ACCC's ability to identify issues earlier andrespond more effectively.
• Influencedecision-makers and build partnerships across the ACCC and withexternal stakeholders to translate insight into action andimprove regulatory outcomes.

Aboutyou

In orderto succeed in the role, you will have:

Allcandidates are expected to meet the APS Integrated LeadershipProfile (ILS) for the classification advertised. Follow the linkfor more information on the ILS. This role in particularrequires:

• Demonstratedexperience leading a specialist team or similar role in a fast-paced and large complex people-centredorganisation
• Demonstratedexperience establishing or leading capabilities that identifyemerging risks, generate strategic insight or supportoperational decision-making through the effective use ofresearch, data, intelligence, behavioural insights, technologyor other evidence sources.
• Proven ability totransform complex and often incomplete information into clearrecommendations, priorities and actions that influencedecision-makers and deliver organisational impact.
• Demonstratedsuccess leading multidisciplinary teams and building effectivepartnerships across organisational boundaries to achieve sharedoutcomes.
• Demonstratedstrategic thinking and problem-solving skills, including theability to anticipate emerging issues, identify newopportunities and manage risk in complex and rapidly evolvingenvironments.
