Airtasker seeks a Director of Product Engineering in Sydney to lead an AI‑native engineering organisation. You will shape how engineering teams work with agents, drive end‑to‑end delivery, and elevate performance measurement.

You will partner closely with product, design, and CTO leadership to set technical direction and hire top engineering leaders. You will operate in a hybrid model, mentor managers, and help scale Airtasker’s marketplace platform while ensuring delivery quality and strategic

• Led a multi‑team engineering group and grown engineering managers within it.
• Experience guiding an engineering organisation through major change and resistance.

Responsibilities

• Define engineering management for agentic teams and align with product needs.
• Shift engineering delivery to agent-based, end‑to‑end workflows with plan-level review.
• Oversee triage and bug fixing by agents and design robust measurement of engineering performance.
• Partner with product/design to scope and sequence work and align with tech direction.
