AUSTRAC in Canberra is seeking a Director, National Security, a senior role leading the collection, analysis and strategic intelligence within a highly classified environment. You will steer a team, set priorities, and liaise with domestic and international partners to disrupt national security threats.

The role requires tertiary qualifications or substantial equivalent experience, Australian citizenship, and the ability to obtain PV or TS-PA security clearance.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or substantial equivalent experience in intelligence, national security, law enforcement, cybercrime, financial crime, counter terrorism, international relations or a related field.
• For this role, you will provide strategic leadership across collection, collation and analysis of financial data and information.
• Must be an Australian citizen and able to obtain PV or TS-PA security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategic direction for AUSTRAC's national security financial intelligence capability.
• Provide authoritative advice on national security financial intelligence matters, including terrorism financing and cybercrime financing.
• Lead and manage a high-performing team, including allocating resources and coaching staff.
• Identify innovative analytic methods and capability uplift across national security intelligence functions.
• Negotiate and lead AUSTRAC's contribution to intelligence missions and engagements with NIC agencies.
• Anticipate and manage risks associated with highly sensitive intelligence work.
