Job summary

HammondCare is seeking a Director, Research & Innovation to lead the delivery of its research and innovation strategy, turning ideas and evidence into practical, scalable solutions for dementia, palliative and complex care.

Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Hammond Innovations, you will oversee a broad portfolio including applied research, evaluation, grants, partnerships, clinical trials, digital health and AI, and build the governance structures to maximise impact.

Qualifications

• Proven senior leadership experience in research and innovation.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across research, evaluation, governance, grants and partnerships.
• Ability to translate strategy into operating models and measurable outcomes.
• Strong understanding of knowledge translation and evidence generation.
• Experience securing major grants and externally funded initiatives.
• Commercial acumen to assess investment and scale opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of Hammond Innovations' research and innovation strategy.
• Oversee portfolio including research, evaluation, grants, partnerships and trials.
• Build strategic partnerships with universities, agencies and industry.
• Drive external funding and grant development opportunities.
• Ensure governance, ethics, risk, and compliance across activities.
• Lead and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary team.
• Represent HammondCare and strengthen external reputation.
