Job summary

Major Road Projects Victoria is seeking a Managing Principal Lawyer to lead all day-to-day legal aspects for a portfolio of Big Build road projects in Victoria. The role focuses on contracting, procurement, and complex delivery matters within a multi-disciplinary project team.

You will provide high-quality legal advice, manage the legal team, and engage external advisers as needed to ensure best-for-project outcomes in a deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in contracting and delivery of large infrastructure projects.
• Experience leading teams and managing external legal advisers.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management for deadline-driven matters.
• Experience with complex collaborative contracting models is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all day-to-day legal aspects for a portfolio of Big Build roads projects.
• Provide high-quality, pragmatic legal advice on development, procurement, delivery, contracting and interfaces.
• Manage, mentor and guide other legal team members and undertake people management as required.
• Collaborate with the Commercial and Legal team and broader project team to provide best-for-project solutions.
• Manage internal and external legal resources and engage with senior decision makers.
