Qualifications

• Significant Secondary HASS teaching and curriculum leadership experience.
• Successful leadership and management within a school environment, with evidence of strong student learning outcomes.
• Strong curriculum development and management capability.
• The capacity to motivate, develop and empower teachers and build a collaborative professional culture.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to navigate challenging conversations constructively.
• Alignment with and support for the Christian values and ethos of the College.
• Tertiary qualifications appropriate to teaching and current Provisional or Full Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and educational leadership for the HASS Department.
• Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of high-quality HASS curriculum, teaching and assessment.
• Inspire, support and develop HASS teachers through collaborative professional practice, performance development and mentoring.
• Use student learning data and evidence to inform practice and improve student outcomes.
• Champion contemporary approaches to learning, including inquiry and explicit teaching, student voice and agency, meaningful technology integration and differentiated learning.
• Maintain current knowledge of developments within the Australian Curriculum, QCAA, SATE, ATAR and QCE environment.
• Contribute to operational planning and the broader strategic direction of teaching and learning at the College.
• Foster positive and productive relationships with students, colleagues, families and the wider College community.
