Qualifications

• FRANZCP and unconditional registration with the Medical Board of Australia are required.
• Significant senior clinical or medical leadership experience is essential.
• Strong generalist psychiatry experience is expected.
• Experience across mental health and/or Alcohol and Other Drug services is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to provide clinical governance and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to medical education and workforce development is required.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential.
• Commitment to culturally safe and patient-centred care and capability in regional service delivery.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an accomplished Director of Clinical Services - Mental Health to provide senior clinical leadership across mental health and Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) services throughout the Kimberley region of Western Australia.

The Opportunity

Working closely with the Regional Manager of Mental Health and AOD, you will provide clinical leadership across the Broome Hospital Acute Psychiatric Unit (APU) and regional community-based Mental Health and AOD services.

You will play a key role in shaping the future of mental health care across the Kimberley, supporting high-quality clinical services across a geographically dispersed region.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing senior clinical governance, leadership and oversight across regional mental health services
• Providing comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment
• Supporting safe, evidence-based and high-quality clinical care
• Providing clinical leadership across the Broome Hospital APU and regional community services
• Supporting consultation-liaison psychiatry across regional hospitals
• Working with clinical and operational leaders to develop and strengthen regional services
• Ensuring services align with relevant mental health legislation, standards and WA Health strategies
