Job summary

Transgrid is seeking an exceptional Health, Safety & Wellbeing Director, Major Projects to lead the HSW function across a portfolio of critical energy infrastructure in Australia. You will shape governance, drive risk management, and ensure world-class safety outcomes across design, procurement and construction.

You'll lead a team of senior managers, partner with regulators and execs, embed psychological safety and wellbeing, and build a high-performing safety culture across multiple programs.

Qualifications

• Degree in Work Health & Safety or related field and/or postgraduate qualifications are desirable.
• Extensive senior HSW leadership experience in major infrastructure or high-risk projects.
• Proven ability to implement governance, assurance and reporting across complex portfolios.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Major Projects HSW Plan and portfolio-wide initiatives.
• Establish a scalable HSW operating model across multiple programs and projects.
• Lead risk-based assurance, audits and critical control verification activities.
• Embed HSW requirements across project development, design, procurement and construction.
• Provide executive oversight of incidents, investigations and regulator engagement.
• Lead contractor safety governance across EPC, alliance and collaborative delivery environments.
