Job summary

AirTrunk in Sydney is seeking a Director of Electrical Systems to lead a multi-disciplined team across APAC, reporting to the Senior Director of Technical Operations.

You will shape design, procurement, and operational standards for hyperscale data centres, travel across APAC, and partner with design, construction, commissioning, and site operations to deliver reliable, scalable electrical infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data centres or mission critical environments.
• Hyperscale APAC experience preferred.
• Tenured experience leading a team of electrical engineers.
• Strong teamwork and exceptional communication across partner teams in AirTrunk.
• Subject matter expert for Electrical Systems operations incl. LV/HV installations.
• Strong commercial acumen to understand engineering decisions' implications.
• Willing to travel regularly to APAC regions.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of Electrical specialists to ensure effective solutions implementation and issue resolution.
• Represent Technical Operations in design aspects of new builds and upgrades, including vendor selection, commissioning and testing.
• Define & augment when required our product specifications with an 'Operational Lens'.
• Define the required maintenance (frequency and scope) on all electrical infrastructure and develop standards across the portfolio.
• Partner with site operations on event RCAs, product failures, risks and feedback loop for design/procurement.
• Oversight and resolution of the Electrical operational aspects of new project deployments.
• Development of Electrical operations strategies for new sites across APAC, focusing on local codes and regulations.
• Support operational incidents and escalation with technical expertise.
• Effective and timely Problem resolution within Electrical Systems.

A Snapshot

As Director of Electrical Systems based in Sydney or Singapore , you will report to the Senior Director - T echnical Operations and work closely with various teams and leadership across the Asia Pacific region , making your mark in several ways:

• You are a multi disciplined data centre technical operations SME
• Multiskilled with electrical (HV/MV/LV) experience and knowledge across a wide range of asset types and data centre designs.
• You are a highly experienced technical manager with great communication skills and a leader of leaders.
• As the D irector of Electrical Systems , you will interface with key areas of the business such as Design & innovation , construction, commissioning & procurement as the voice of the customer.

Your Day to Day

• Manage a team ofElectricalspecialists to ensure effectivesolutionsimplementationandissue resolution.

• Support operational incidents and escalation with technicalexpertise.

Requirements

• You have 10+ years of experience in working in either data centres or mission critical environments
• Ideally, you have experience working for a data centre operator and haveprevioushyperscale experience in the APAC market
• You have tenured experience with managing a team of specialistelectricalengineers.
• You area strong teamplayer and exceptional communicator with influencing skills – working across partner teams in AirTrunk such as Development, Design/ Procurement.
• You are the subject matter expert for all aspects ofElectrical Systemsoperations including aspects suchLow/Medium/High Voltage installations.
• Ideally, you have strongcommercial acumen to understand the commercial implications of engineering decisions
• You are willing to travel to other APAC regions on a regular basis
