The QBCC is on a significant transformation journey, with a renewed focus on how it operates, engages with stakeholders and delivers on its regulatory responsibilities. This creates an important opportunity to strengthen the organisation's reputation, build understanding of its role and impact, and ensure its communications are proactive, purposeful and connected to the needs of the business and the community.

Reporting to the Head of Stakeholder Relations, this is a pivotal leadership opportunity to shape the future direction of the QBCC's communications, media and public relations, and ministerial and corporate advisory functions.

You will lead a team through organisational and cultural change, bringing people together around a clear vision, empowering managers and building a more integrated, business-partner-oriented approach. You will ensure communications actively build understanding, strengthen relationships and demonstrate the value the QBCC delivers to licensees, homeowners and the broader Queensland community.

You will:

  • Elevate the QBCC's reputation and visibility, developing proactive, integrated communications strategies that build awareness, strengthen public confidence and demonstrate the organisation's contribution to Queensland's building and construction industry.

About You

You are a strategic and people-focused leader who knows how to bring people together, build confidence and deliver results in a complex and evolving environment. You bring demonstrated leadership experience in communications, media, government relations or executive advisory services, research, or a related discipline.
