Job description

Help shape the next stage of Horsell’s growth

This is a greenfield leadership role in a mature, well-established professional services business that is already performing strongly and entering its next phase of scale.

We are seeking a commercial, people-focused delivery leader to take real ownership of client delivery, team performance, and organic growth across our existing client base.

Working directly with the Managing Director and alongside our Director – Business Development, you will form part of Horsell’s core leadership team, responsible for translating opportunity into high-quality outcomes, protecting margin, and building a scalable delivery engine.

This role suits someone who enjoys running the engine of a professional services business — leading people, delivering work well, and continuously improving how services are delivered.

As Director – Client Delivery & Growth, you will be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of all signed work and the growth of existing client relationships across consulting, technical communications, and technology-enabled services.

You will lead our consulting workforce, own delivery performance, and design delivery models that enable the business to do more with less while maintaining quality and client trust.

Why Join Horsell?

Competitive Salary & Bonus: Strong base package up to $150,000 plus super plus uncapped performance-linked bonuses.

Work–Life Balance: This is a hybrid role working from the office and from home as required.

Career Growth: Backed by a minimum $5,000 annual development fund and clear pathways for progression.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own delivery of all contracted work across consulting and professional services engagements
  • Lead, coach, and manage Consultants, Senior Consultants and Sector Leads
  • Act as the primary account owner post-contract, maintaining strong client relationships
  • Drive utilisation, margin performance, and delivery quality
  • Identify and convert organic growth opportunities within existing accounts
  • Work with Business Development pre-contract to shape delivery models and pricing assumptions
  • Design efficient, scalable delivery approaches that balance people, margin, and quality
  • Identify capability gaps and inform recruitment and workforce planning
  • Lead teams through change as the business grows and evolves
About You
  • 10+ years’ experience in consulting, engineering, technical services, or adjacent professional services
  • Proven experience leading delivery teams and managing client accounts
  • Demonstrated accountability for utilisation, margin, and delivery outcomes
  • Strong people leadership and performance management capability
  • Confidence engaging with senior client stakeholders and internal leaders
  • Experience operating in a growing or evolving business with imperfect systems
  • Experience delivering one or more of the following is highly regarded:
  • Consulting or advisory services
  • Technical, engineering, or documentation services
  • Technology-enabled or data-driven offerings
  • You do not need to be a technologist, but you must be comfortable leading delivery in a technology-enabled environment.
  • Curiosity about automation, AI, and modern delivery tools
  • Willingness to adopt new ways of working to improve efficiency and quality
  • A mindset focused on leverage, simplification, and reducing manual effort
  • Supporting teams to work smarter as the business scales
Security Requirements

Applicants must hold, or be eligible to hold, an AGSVA Security Clearance.

Experience in government, defence-adjacent, infrastructure, transport, utilities, or regulated environments is highly regarded.
