Job summary

MW Recruitment is seeking a Business Services & Tax Director to lead an existing $700k fee base with equity potential once it reaches $1.5m. The role is based in Sydney or Brisbane and involves owning the client base from day one, managing complex compliance and advisory work, and actively pursuing new business to grow the base.

You should be CA/CPA qualified with strong technical business services and tax experience, and have leadership and BD capabilities.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualified with strong technical Business Services & Tax experience.
• Proven experience managing a fee base or portfolio at a mid tier or similar caliber firm.
• Genuine appetite for business development with confidence to pursue growth.
• Strong communication and relationship management skills across client and referral networks.
• Leadership experience or readiness to lead and develop a team.
• Based in Sydney or Brisbane, or willing to relocate.
• Equity available once the fee base grows to $1.5m.
• Take over an established $700k fee base, no cold start.
• Clients of genuine mid tier firm caliber.
• Strong internal referral program with substantial monetary rewards to support growth.
• WFH days and flexible hours.
• Direct mentorship from managing partners and leadership team.
• Junior staff already in place with option to increase over time.
• Investing in technology and AI to improve efficiency.

About The Role

I am looking for a Business Services & Tax Director to take on an existing $700k fee base, with clients of genuine mid tier caliber. Equity is available once the fee base is grown to $1.5m. This role suits someone who backs themselves and enjoys business development as much as the technical work. Based in either Sydney or Brisbane.
