Job description

What if the next step in your marketing career wasn't joining a bigger team... but helping build one?

Let's be honest. This role isn't for someone who wants to inherit a polished marketing machine.

We're not handing you a mature marketing department, a huge advertising budget, or a team of specialists. What we are offering is something much harder to find. Ownership.

A chance to take an established client portfolio, help it grow, and play a leading role in building a digital marketing service that becomes well known and respected throughout the Shoalhaven and beyond.

If that sounds exciting rather than overwhelming, keep reading.

The marketer we're looking for isn't really a marketer.

Well... not just a marketer. You're the person who gets curious. The person who keeps asking questions after everyone else has nodded and moved on. The person who can sit in a room with a technical specialist, listen to them explain something complicated, and somehow walk away knowing exactly how to communicate its value to customers.

Because here's one of the biggest challenges you'll tackle at IT Basecamp.

We help businesses across Australia with IT support, cybersecurity, cloud solutions, web development, hosting, digital marketing and a range of technology services. Our team understands this stuff brilliantly. Our customers don't always.

Some clients have virtually no IT knowledge. Others have internal IT teams and are looking for strategic advice. The challenge is translating complex technical knowledge into clear, compelling marketing that helps business owners understand why it matters.

And that's where you'll shine.

Part of your role will be looking after an existing portfolio of digital marketing clients. These are predominantly small regional businesses that rely on us to improve their online visibility, generate leads and grow their customer base. You'll manage SEO, content, reporting, digital advertising and client relationships.

Importantly, we're not pretending these are massive agency clients with endless budgets. Many are micro and small businesses. They're good businesses run by good people, and they genuinely value having a trusted marketing adviser in their corner. You'll inherit those relationships, continue to help improve outcomes and be part of growing the portfolio over time.

But that's only half the opportunity.

Help Turn Expertise Into Growth

IT Basecamp is full of smart people doing great work for their clients. The challenge isn't whether we have expertise. The challenge is extracting that expertise from the heads of technical people and translating it into marketing that business owners actually understand.

That's where you'll make a real impact.

You'll spend time with our team, asking questions, digging deeper, learning how our services solve customer problems and uncovering the stories, insights and value that make us different. You'll need to be comfortable navigating conversations that range from cybersecurity and managed IT services through to websites, hosting and digital marketing. Not because you're expected to be the technical expert. But because you're skilled at uncovering what matters and translating it into messaging that resonates.

Then you'll turn those insights into content, campaigns and marketing initiatives that help grow awareness of our, IT Services, Cybersecurity, Cloud Solutions, Web Development and Digital Marketing Services

A significant portion of your week will be dedicated to IT Basecamp's own marketing, developing strategies and executing campaigns that help bring new clients into the business.

Who You'll Probably Be

You've moved beyond the junior stage. You know how digital marketing works. You've had enough exposure to SEO, content, analytics and advertising to confidently manage your own workload.

You might currently be:

  • A Marketing Coordinator ready for more ownership.
  • A Digital Marketing Specialist or Account Manager in an agency.
  • An in-house marketer looking for more variety.
  • A freelancer looking for the support of a great team.

What matters most isn't where you've worked. It's how you think.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Gets energy from learning new things.
  • Can turn complexity into clarity.
  • Enjoys building trusted relationships.
  • Is curious enough to keep asking questions.
  • Can balance creativity with data and results.
  • Likes variety, ownership and autonomy.
  • Wants to contribute ideas, not just complete tasks.
  • Is excited by growth.

Because growth is really what this role is all about.

The Practical Stuff

You'll ideally bring experience in:

  • SEO and search optimisation
  • Content creation and copywriting
  • Google Ads
  • Google Analytics and Search Console
  • Client communication and stakeholder management
  • Campaign reporting and insights
  • Experience with WordPress, websites, hosting or technology businesses would be highly regarded, but isn't essential.

If you're looking for a large corporate marketing department, this probably isn't the role for you.

But if you're ready to take ownership of your own client portfolio, help grow a respected regional business, and become the person who transforms expertise into marketing that wins customers, we'd love to hear from you.

We're not looking for someone to fit into a marketing machine. We're looking for someone who wants to help build one.
