Create news stories for the Asia Pacific Newsroom (APN) Ongoing, full-time position Flexible location Base salary $92K-$99K plus 15.4% ABC nominated superannuation

The ABC is looking for a Digital Journalist to deliver original, impactful international news with a special focus on the Asia-Pacific region and its communities.

From fast-breaking updates to in-depth explainers and feature stories, you'll create compelling digital content that reaches audiences across platforms.

You’ll also have the opportunity to script and work on vertical videos for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube bringing the news to life in fresh and creative ways.

The Job Pitch: write and produce original international news and features for digital platforms.

Build strong networks across Asia-Pacific and Australian communities.

Adapt stories for social, video on demand and vertical video.

Collaborate with various teams across the Asia Pacific newsroom on digital content.

Track story performance and share insights.

Mentor junior journalists and promote diverse storytelling.

About You: You will have
Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
Proven track record in original digital news and breaking stories.
Strong editorial judgement with experience in international reporting an advantage.
Knowledge of audience growth and digital trends.
Experience with multimedia systems; CoreMedia an advantage.
Strong collaboration and communication skills; diverse language abilities an advantage.
Commitment to diverse, authentic storytelling and ability to build and maintain broad community and expert networks.
