Job description

We're seeking a Digital Engineering Coordinator to support the delivery of iconic infrastructure projects across Canberra, including the Lower Molonglo Water Quality Control Centre (LMWQCC). Working across design, construction and project delivery teams, you'll play a key role in coordinating BIM models, managing digital workflows and driving collaboration to support safe, efficient and high quality project outcomes.

We're looking for someone with advanced proficiency in Revit and Navisworks, strong knowledge of ISO 19650 and industry BIM standards, and experience coordinating multidisciplinary models within major infrastructure environments. If you're passionate about BIM, VDC and digital coordination, this is an opportunity to make a real impact on one of Canberra's most significant infrastructure projects.

Lower Molonglo Water Quality Control Centre:

The Lower Molonglo Water Quality Control Centre (LMWQCC) Upgrade is a major wastewater infrastructure project in Canberra, ACT, being delivered for Icon Water under its Major Projects Delivery Program. The project is being undertaken through a joint venture between Seymour Whyte and VINCI Construction Grands Projets, alongside design partner Beca HunterH2O, bringing together expertise in large-scale water and civil infrastructure delivery.

The project involves upgrading and expanding the existing wastewater treatment facility to improve treatment efficiency, increase plant capacity, and support Canberra’s growing population. Key works include the construction of a new membrane bioreactor capable of treating up to 97 megalitres of wastewater per day, along with upgrades to critical treatment systems across the plant. Sustainability is also a key focus, with initiatives including renewable energy use, recycled water during construction, and the reuse of on‑site materials where possible.

About Seymour Whyte:

We are a successful civil contracting business that has been operating in Australia for over 35 years. With the agility and personal connection of a Tier 2, yet the expertise of a Tier 1, and the enhanced resources of one of the largest, world‑class construction companies, VINCI, our employees and clients get the best of three worlds.

As a progressive, leading civil engineering firm built on the strong foundations of our unique history, we engage, enable and empower our people to be better. With you, we are altogether stronger, in building the future we want.

About the Role:
  • Coordinating Digital Engineering activities across design, construction and project delivery teams
  • Managing federated BIM models and digital deliverables throughout the project lifecycle
  • Leading model federation, clash detection and coordination workshops using industry‑leading digital tools
  • Driving VDC activities to support construction planning, collaboration and project delivery
  • Facilitating design coordination meetings, constructability reviews and Safety in Design workshops
  • Ensuring BIM models and digital engineering processes align with project and client requirements
  • Supporting project teams with training, mentoring and continuous improvement initiatives across BIM and Digital Engineering
About you:
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Surveying, Architecture or a related discipline
  • Experience in Digital Engineering, BIM Coordination or a similar role within the infrastructure or construction sector
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit and Navisworks, with experience managing and coordinating multidisciplinary BIM models
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 19650 and industry BIM standards, with a solid understanding of model federation, clash detection and digital coordination workflows
  • Experience supporting project delivery through BIM, VDC and Digital Engineering methodologies across civil infrastructure projects
  • Experience working within Common Data Environments such as Autodesk Forma, Bentley ProjectWise, Synergy or similar platforms desirable
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to facilitate coordination workshops and influence project teams
  • A collaborative approach, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced project environment
Seymour Whyte benefits:
  • Workplace banking benefits and everyday financial discounts
  • Birthday leave, recognising the importance of personal milestones
  • The option to purchase additional leave to support travel, study or life commitments
  • Travel benefits, along with retail, lifestyle and wellness discounts
