Job summary

Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service in Far North Queensland is seeking an experienced dietitian to manage an allocated caseload and deliver evidence-based nutrition services across inpatient and community settings. You will plan, implement, and evaluate dietetic interventions within a multi-professional team.

• Manage an allocated caseload to deliver nutrition and dietetic services commensurate with experience (including screening, assessment, intervention, and evaluation) across the continuum of care, within a multi-professional team and in accordance with professional and ethical standards.
• Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning within dietetics and work unit teams and by engaging in professional development activities.
• Implement and evaluate the delivery of evidence based dietetic services across a variety of clinical areas and within all settings (e.g. foodservice, inpatients, outpatients, community, groups, aged care, paediatrics, mental health) as part of both multi-professional teams and the dietetics team.

In your new role you will…

• Manage an allocated caseload to deliver nutrition and dietetic services commensurate with experience (including screening, assessment, intervention, and evaluation) across the continuum of care, within a multi-professional team and in accordance with professional and ethical standards. This includes independent day to day planning, service prioritisation, demand management, administration, service advocacy and resource management activities.
• Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning within dietetics and work unit teams and by engaging in professional development activities.
• Implement and evaluate the delivery of evidence based dietetic services across a variety of clinical areas and within all settings (e.g. foodservice, inpatients, outpatients, community, groups, aged care, paediatrics, mental health) as part of both multi-professional teams and the dietetics team.
