The purpose of this role is to contribute to patient care by providing clinical support services delegated by and under the supervision of a Dietitian. The Dietitian Assistant will undertake a range of activities within prescribed guidelines and procedures.

The Key Responsibilities Of The Role Include

• Implement and monitor nutritional care according to predetermined guidelines and under the supervision of an Accredited Practising Dietitian.
• Conduct nutrition screening, meal audits and patient reviews that include, but are not limited to the following: completing malnutrition screening, collecting patient's food preferences, conducting meal-time audits and supplement tolerance reviews. Provide feedback to dietitians on findings, escape concerns to dietitians as per guidelines and assist in discharge planning.
• Provide education for clients on therapeutic diets as delegated by a dietitian (e.g. high energy and high protein eating) using predetermined guidelines and handouts.
