Job summary

South East Queensland Hauliers in Brisbane are hiring a Professional Diesel Motor Mechanic/Fitter to fault diagnose, service and repair our fleet across Queensland operations. You will help minimise downtime through proactive maintenance and adhere to safety and quality standards in every job.

The role is on-site with a Monday to Friday roster, offering weekly pay, competitive hourly rates up to 55 AUD, and opportunities for training and professional development within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience as Diesel Motor Mechanic/Fitter required.
• Cert III in Heavy Machine Mechanic or Diesel Fitter mandatory.
• Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines and components.
• Experience with fleet equipment brands (Kone, Kalmar, Hyster, Sennebogen, Caterpillar) preferred.
• Manual Licence essential.

Responsibilities

• Minimise plant and equipment downtime through proactive maintenance.
• Diagnose, inspect, service and repair fleet to safety and quality standards.
• Maintain all plant, equipment and vehicles per manufacturer specifications.
• Attend breakdowns and perform field repairs promptly.
• Communicate safety or maintenance issues clearly and efficiently.

About the Role

As a Professional Diesel Motor Mechanic/Fitter, you will play a crucial role in fault diagnosis, repair and maintenance of company vehicles and equipment. Your responsibilities will vary depending on your experience level but may include:

• Minimising plant and equipment downtime through proactive maintenance.
• Diagnosing, inspecting, servicing, and repairing the fleet to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Maintaining all company plant, equipment, and vehicles according to manufacturer’s specifications.
• Attending breakdowns and performing field-related mechanical repairs promptly.
• Communicating safety or maintenance issues effectively and efficiently.

About You

• 3 years’ experience as a Diesel Motor Mechanic/Fitter.
• Certification III in Heavy Machine Mechanic or Diesel Fitter
• Strong technical skills and knowledge of diesel engine systems and components
• Experience with Kone, Kalmar, Hyster, Sennebogen, Caterpillar preferred
• Manual Licence essential
