Job summary

Diesel Services Queensland on the Gold Coast is expanding our workshop and seeking a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our team. Join us in a new, modern facility and work with quality equipment and a supportive crew.

We welcome experienced heav y vehicle mechanics, those transitioning from light vehicle work, or 3rd/4th year apprentices. Competitive salary, career development, and a strong team culture are on offer.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic or similar role.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and heavy vehicle systems.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to use diagnostic equipment and hand tools effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Certificate III in Engineering-Mechanical trade or similar trade.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
• A valid driver's license is required; a heavy vehicle license and forklift license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy vehicles, including engines, transmissions, and brake systems.
• Diagnose mechanical issues using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
• Conduct inspections to identify potential problems and address them promptly.
• Replace or repair faulty components and systems.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve optimal results and share best practices.
