Job summary

RockMate Landscape Supplies is seeking a skilled Diesel Fitter Mechanic at its North MacLean, Queensland location to ensure safety and reliability of our fleet. You will diagnose faults, perform maintenance, and install mechanical components, with strong emphasis on safety and quality.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years in diesel-powered machinery and a relevant trade qualification or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical fitting, maintenance and repair of diesel-powered machinery or heavy mechanical equipment.
• Trade qualification or equivalent experience in mechanical fitting, diesel engines or heavy mechanical

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical fitting, maintenance and repair of diesel engine components and equipment.
• Diagnose faults and dismantle engines, transmissions, pumps and other assemblies to repair or replace worn parts.
• Fit, assemble and install mechanical components with correct tolerances and alignment.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance on diesel engines and mechanical systems for reliability and compliance.
• Use precision tools to test, adjust and verify performance of components and systems.
• Reassemble units after repair and conduct operational testing.
• Keep detailed records of work performed and parts used.
• Adhere to safety standards and compliance requirements.
• Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
