Job summary

Skilled Jobs Australia is seeking a Diesel Fitter to join a dedicated team in Newman, WA. You will be responsible for mechanical repairs, diagnostics and installations in the Pilbara region.

Role requires Cert III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or 3+ years of diesel fitter experience, with strong reading of drawings and hydraulic/pneumatic familiarity. Ongoing safety adherence and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Cert III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or 3 years of diesel fitter experience.
• Ability to read drawings and determine material, sequence and machine settings.
• Diagnostic and fault-finding skills on diesel engines, plant equipment and hydraulics.
• Strong communication and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Analyse, diagnose, repair, modify or install parts and equipment to minimise downtime.
• Study drawings to determine materials, sequence of operations, and machine settings.
• Diagnose, repair, overhaul engines and plant equipment and machinery.
• Maintain, diagnose, repair and fit hydraulic components of diesel attachments.
• Dismantle, repair and reassemble parts/components.
• Welding with oxy, TIG and MIG to fit, replace, assemble and repair metal parts.
• Test repaired parts for proper performance and electrical circuits.
• Use diagnostic tools and computers to diagnose faults.
• Inspect equipment and machinery for faults.
• Follow workplace OHS protocols.
