Job summary

Future Secure AI is seeking a DevOps and Infrastructure engineer to join our Sydney-based team. This hands-on role focuses on reliability, observability, and automation behind production platforms, tackling complex infrastructure challenges and reducing manual toil.

You will own monitoring, CI/CD support, on-call incident response, and security hardening while collaborating with Jira Service Management, Confluence and Opsgenie. A culture of growth and curiosity awaits you.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, Platform Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Strong experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
• Hands-on observability experience across logging, metrics, traces and alerting.
• Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, SQL).
• Experience with production incident response and on-call environments.
• Structured, methodical approach to troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues.
• Mindset of automate first, reduce toil and improve operability.
• Nice to have experience with low-code platforms and integration troubleshooting.
• ITIL 4 Foundation or similar operational experience.
• Security and infrastructure hardening experience.

Responsibilities

• Own observability and alerting across production platforms, including monitoring, logging, metrics and alerts.
• Deliver and own monitoring retrofit with synthetic/heartbeat checks and log shipping.
• Own infrastructure reliability across cloud, networking, environments, configuration and capacity.
• Support CI/CD and deployment, including safe release, rollback and incident-disable mechanisms.
• Lead infrastructure incident response and restore services during production incidents.
• Participate in on-call rotation and support P1 incidents with Service Delivery Manager.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks and build tooling to reduce toil.
• Integrate across Jira Service Management, Confluence and Opsgenie.
• Contribute to security hardening, including secrets management and patching.
• Create and maintain runbooks and ensure readiness before go-live.

About the Role

We're looking for a DevOps and Infrastructure engineer to join our engineering team and help us build the reliability, observability and automation foundations behind our production platforms. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving complex infrastructure problems, improving how systems operate in production, and automating the things that shouldn't need to be done manually.

What you'll do

• Own observability and alerting across our production platforms - building and tuning monitoring, logging, metrics, traces and actionable alerts.
• Deliver and own the Classic monitoring retrofit, including synthetic and heartbeat checks and log shipping, helping move the team from manual monitoring to proactive, alert-driven support.
• Own infrastructure reliability, including cloud infrastructure, networking, environments, configuration, capacity, performance and resilience.
• Support CI/CD and deployment, including safe release, rollback and incident-disable mechanisms.
• Take a lead role in infrastructure incident response, diagnosing issues and restoring services during production incidents.
• Participate in the primary on-call rotation and support P1 incidents alongside the Service Delivery Manager.
• Build automation and tooling to reduce repetitive operational work and eliminate unnecessary toil.
• Help implement and operate integrations across Jira Service Management, Confluence and Opsgenie.
• Contribute to security and infrastructure hardening, including secrets management, patching and security escalation processes.
• Create and maintain runbooks and help ensure monitoring, rollback and kill-switch capabilities are ready before systems go live.

What we're looking for

• You'll ideally have 3+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, Platform Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering, with a strong interest in reliability and automation.
• Strong experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
• Hands-on experience with observability, including logging, metrics, tracing and alerting.
• Strong scripting and automation skills - Python, Bash or SQL would be valuable.
• Experience with production incident response and on-call environments.
• A structured and methodical approach to troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues.
• Experience introducing monitoring and observability into systems where it may not already exist.
• A mindset of automate first, reduce toil and make systems easier to operate.
• Nice to have Experience with low-code platforms and integration/connector troubleshooting.
• ITIL 4 Foundation or similar operational experience.
• Security and infrastructure hardening experience.
