Job summary

Infosys Limited in Perth, Australia, is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support and enhance the BHAT and UDL applications. The role is full-time with a hybrid working arrangement, based in Perth, and focuses on automation, infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipeline development and cloud-native delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain the BHAT and UDL applications, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Design and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
  • Develop, maintain and optimise CI/CD pipelines for automated software delivery.
  • Build, deploy and support cloud-native applications on AWS.
  • Develop automation scripts in Python to streamline operations.
  • Manage containerised environments with Docker across environments.
  • Collaborate with development and platform teams to implement improvements.
  • Design and optimise SQL queries and database components.
  • Support Angular-based application components when required.
  • Monitor health and resolve issues; apply DevOps best practices.
  • Contribute to cloud platform modernisation and ML workflows where relevant.

Role Description

The DevOps Engineer is a technical role responsible for supporting and enhancing the BHAT and UDL applications within the portfolio. Based in Perth, this full‑time position will play a key role in driving automation, infrastructure as code (IaC), CI/CD pipeline development, and cloud‑native application delivery. The role requires strong expertise in Python, AWS, Angular, Terraform, Docker, and SQL, with a focus on building scalable, reliable, and efficient solutions aligned with the organization’s technology roadmap. Experience or contextual knowledge of Machine Learning is desirable and will support future innovation and platform evolution initiatives.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Support and maintain the BHAT and UDL applications, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability.
  • Design, implement, and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimise CI/CD pipelines to support automated software delivery and deployment processes.
  • Build, deploy, and support cloud‑native applications and services hosted on AWS.
  • Develop automation scripts and tools using Python to streamline operational processes and improve efficiency.
  • Manage and support containerised environments using Docker across development and production platforms.
  • Collaborate with development, business, and platform teams to deliver enhancements, releases, and operational improvements.
  • Design, optimise, and troubleshoot SQL queries and database‑related components.
  • Support the development and maintenance of Angular‑based application components where required.
  • Monitor application and infrastructure health, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Apply DevOps best practices across automation, deployment, monitoring, security, and configuration management.
  • Contribute to cloud platform modernisation initiatives and technology roadmap execution.
  • Support Machine Learning‑related workflows and platforms where contextual knowledge is applicable.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and knowledge‑management artefacts.
  • Participate in incident management, root‑cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities to enhance service quality.
Technical Expertise & DevOps Requirements
  • Strong experience in AWS cloud services, including deployment, support, and management of cloud‑native applications and infrastructure.
  • Proven expertise in Python, Terraform, Docker, and SQL for automation, IaC, containerisation, and database management.
  • Hands‑on experience designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient and reliable software delivery.
  • Experience supporting and enhancing modern web applications, with knowledge of Angular and full application lifecycle management.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps best practices, including automation, monitoring, configuration management, incident resolution, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high‑performing solutions.
  • Contextual knowledge of Machine Learning concepts and platforms is desirable.
Essential
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer supporting enterprise applications in cloud‑based environments.
  • Strong hands‑on expertise in AWS, Python, Terraform, Docker, SQL, and CI/CD pipeline implementation and support.
  • Experience designing and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation frameworks, and cloud‑native application deployments.
  • Experience supporting production environments, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and driving operational excellence.
  • Knowledge of Angular‑based applications and modern software delivery practices.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery teams and collaborating effectively with cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Contextual knowledge or exposure to Machine Learning platforms, workflows, or solutions is desirable.
