Job summary

Ambush in Melbourne, Victoria, seeks a DevOps Engineer to build scalable Google Cloud Platform infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing. You will implement Infrastructure as Code, establish observability, and help enforce Zero Trust and security-first reliability across environments.

You will collaborate with Security and Engineering, mentor peers, and ensure high availability with robust disaster recovery.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Build, IAM, VPC, Cloud Storage and Cloud Run.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Pulumi).
• Scripting/automation experience.
• Deep understanding of Docker and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Networking, cloud security (IAM, firewalls, service accounts) and high availability architecture.
• Experience with CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Cloud Build, GitLab CI, etc).
• Monitoring and alerting (Stackdriver, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar).
• Excellent English proficiency.

Must-Haves

• Solid scripting/automation experience.

• Strong knowledge of networking, cloud security (IAM, firewalls, service accounts), and high availability architecture.
• Experience with CI/CD systems (CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Cloud Build, GitLab CI, etc)).
• Familiarity with monitoring and alerting (Stackdriver, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar).
• Excellent English proficiency is extremely important; you will have daily contact with senior stakeholders, and communication is key.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with multi‑cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
• Experience with Zero Trust networking and DevSecOps practices.
• Hands‑on experience with workflow orchestration systems such as Temporal, Cadence, or Airflow.
• Previous exposure to regulated environments (HIPAA, SOC 2, or equivalent compliance frameworks).
• Familiarity with modern edge security practices, including Zero Trust networking, service meshes, and mTLS.
