Job summary

Talent is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our Australian technology team during a busy project period. The role bridges development and infrastructure, focusing on IaC, Azure environments, and deployment pipelines.

You will collaborate across networking, security, architecture, and customer teams while contributing to cloud architecture decisions and ensuring secure, scalable environments. Some international stakeholder meetings may be required.

Qualifications

• Solid previous experience as a DevOps Engineer.
• Advanced experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with Helm Charts and containerised deployments.
• Strong experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Good understanding of cloud networking, private networks, virtual machines, databases, firewalls and security controls.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across both application and infrastructure layers.
• Experience working in secure, regulated or government environments will be highly regarded.
• Strong communication across developers, infrastructure, networking and external customer teams.
• Flexibility to occasionally attend later meetings with international stakeholders, with flexible working arrangements available around these requirements.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and enhance Azure environments using Terraform Infrastructure as Code
• Develop and maintain deployment pipelines through Azure DevOps
• Deploy and manage applications across AKS using Kubernetes and Helm Charts
• Work across Azure infrastructure including virtual machines, databases, private networking and cloud services
• Troubleshoot complex application and environment issues across teams
• Define technical requirements with infrastructure, networking and security specialists
• Contribute to cloud architecture discussions and translate requirements into practical solutions
• Ensure environments meet network security, firewall and security-control requirements
• Participate in technical workshops with customers and external stakeholders
• Support project implementation from initial scoping through deployment into customer environments

Our client is an established Australian technology company, delivering cutting-edge technology around the world. They have an exciting opportunity for a DevOps Engineer to join asap during a busy project period.

The role
The DevOps Engineer will work closely with development and infrastructure teams to scope, build and support the environments required to deliver the project. This is broader than a pure CI/CD or build role - you'll act as an important bridge between application development and infrastructure, helping determine where issues sit and working across teams to resolve them. A significant portion of the role will involve Infrastructure as Code, building and maintaining Azure environments and deployment pipelines, while also working across networking, security, architecture and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and enhance Azure environments using Terraform Infrastructure as Code
• Develop and maintain deployment pipelines through Azure DevOps
• Deploy and manage applications across Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) using Kubernetes and Helm Charts
• Work across Azure infrastructure including virtual machines, databases, private networking and associated cloud services
• Troubleshoot complex application and environment issues, working across development and infrastructure teams to identify root causes and implement solutions
• Work closely with infrastructure, networking and security specialists to define technical requirements and manage delivery risks
• Contribute to cloud architecture discussions and translate high-level requirements into practical technical solutions
• Ensure environments meet appropriate network security, firewall and security-control requirements
• Participate in technical workshops with customers and external stakeholders, including networking and security teams
• Support project implementation from initial scoping through to deployment into customer environments

About you

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
