Job summary

Infosys Limited is seeking a seasoned DevOps and Platform Engineering consultant to lead enterprise clients and delivery teams. You will establish AI-enabled engineering practices, modern DevSecOps, and SRE capabilities, shaping roadmaps and enabling modern platforms.

You will work with senior stakeholders to deliver measurable engineering excellence. The role combines consulting leadership with hands-on engineering across cloud, automation, observability, and AI governance to improve delivery

Qualifications

• Minimum 12+ years IT experience with DevOps/Platform engineering
• Proven experience leading enterprise consulting engagements and transformation programs
• Strong hands-on understanding of CI/CD/CT, release engineering, IaC and software engineering practices

Responsibilities

• Analyse client IT environments to identify opportunities for improved efficiency using DevOps, DevSecOps, cloud-native platforms, automation, and AI-powered engineering tools.
• Prepare gap assessments and design roadmaps for AI-integrated DevOps automation, covering CI/CD/CT pipelines from requirements through development, testing, deployment, and operations.
• Architect and implement intelligent DevOps and DevSecOps tooling infrastructure with integrations across GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, and AI-enhanced tools.
• Design, build, and optimise CI/CD/CT pipelines across Java, .NET, ERP platforms, and cloud-native apps.
• Drive automation across build, release, deployment, IaC provisioning, environment management, monitoring, and operational processes.
• Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, including auto-scaling, high availability, capacity planning, and AI-based resource optimisation.

Short Description

As a DevOps, Platform Engineering and Site Reliability Engineering Consultant with AI, you will lead enterprise clients and delivery teams in establishing and adopting AI‑enabled engineering practices, modern DevSecOps and SRE capabilities. You will assess current‑state capabilities, shape transformation roadmaps, architect and enable modern engineering platforms, and improve software delivery performance, resilience, security and developer experience.

The role combines consulting leadership with practical engineering depth across DevOps toolchains, cloud platforms, infrastructure as code, internal developer platforms, observability, SRE, AIOps, and responsible AI governance. You will work with senior business and technology stakeholders to deliver measurable engineering excellence and operational outcomes.

Roles and Responsibilities

Consulting Delivery

DevOps, DevSecOps and Platform Engineering

• Analyse client IT environments to identify opportunities for improved efficiency using DevOps, DevSecOps, cloud-native platforms, automation, and AI-powered engineering tools.
• Prepare gap assessments and design roadmaps for AI-integrated DevOps automation, covering CI/CD/CT pipelines from requirements through development, testing, deployment, and operations.
• Architect and implement intelligent DevOps and DevSecOps tooling infrastructure, including integrations across platforms such as GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, and AI-enhanced developer tools.
• Design, build, and optimise CI/CD/CT pipelines across Java, .NET, ERP platforms, and cloud-native applications.
• Drive automation across build, release, deployment, infrastructure provisioning, environment management, monitoring, and operational processes
• Support platform engineering initiatives across people, process, and technology, with a focus on scalable, secure, and intelligent engineering environments.
• Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, including auto-scaling, high availability, capacity planning, and AI-based resource optimisation.
• Manage and support container platforms and cloud-native environments including Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, OpenShift, EKS, and AKS.
• Drive Engineering Excellence initiatives through adoption of DORA metrics, reliability engineering, observability, automation maturity models, AI-enabled quality assurance, and continuous improvement frameworks.

AI, GenAI and Automation Enablement

• Mentor DevOps engineers and delivery teams in the use of Generative AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, GitLab Duo, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and other AI-enabled developer productivity solutions.
• Apply prompt engineering techniques to improve interactions with large language models and support use cases such as code generation, pipeline automation, documentation, testing, and knowledge management
• Identify opportunities to use AI/ML and Generative AI to improve engineering efficiency, deployment reliability, incident response, anomaly detection, and operational visibility.
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies in AI/ML, MLOps, Generative AI, DevSecOps, and platform engineering to support innovation and solution development
• Contribute to scalable automation strategies that enable intelligent, secure, and resilient software delivery environments

Thought Leadership

• Provide insights on emerging Agile, DevOps, DevSecOps, AI/ML, MLOps, and Generative AI trends.
• Develop best practices, patterns, coaching aids, white papers, and reusable assets related to Agile transformation, DevOps maturity, AI-enabled delivery, and engineering excellence
• Stay informed on industry developments across Agile, DevOps, cloud engineering, platform engineering, DevSecOps, AI/ML, and Generative AI
• Capture work products, insights, intellectual property, and reusable transformation assets into the organisation’s knowledge management systems.
• Act as an Agile transformation, DevOps, and AI engineering evangelist who can engage with senior client stakeholders and industry executives.

Business Development and Stakeholder Management

• Support Agile transformation and DevOps strategy development for clients, including roadmap creation, maturity assessment, operating model recommendations, and implementation planning.
• Build strong working relationships with client stakeholders, Infosys engagement managers, delivery leaders, and quality consulting practices
• Contribute to business development opportunities by shaping Agile, DevOps, DevSecOps, and AI-led engineering transformation solutions
• Engage effectively with senior stakeholders to influence decision-making, remove delivery blockers, and promote adoption of modern engineering practices.

Skills and Competency Requirements

Essential Skills

• Minimum 12 years of information technology experience, including substantial experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, platform engineering, SRE, cloud engineering, systems integration or technology transformation.
• Proven experience leading enterprise consulting engagements, assessments, roadmaps, operating-model design and implementation programs.
• Strong hands‑on understanding of CI/CD/CT, release engineering, deployment automation, infrastructure as code, configuration management and software engineering practices.
• Practical experience with engineering platforms and tools such as Git, Maven or Gradle, Artifactory or Nexus, GitHub, GitLab and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet or comparable infrastructure and configuration automation technologies.
• Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, EKS, AKS, Docker and cloud-native application platforms.
• Strong cloud experience across at least one of AWS, Azure or GCP, including architecture, scaling, high availability, resilience, security and operational optimisation.
• Strong SRE knowledge, including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, incident management, operational readiness, capacity planning and reliability improvement.
• Hands‑on experience with observability and APM platforms such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK or OpenSearch, Dynatrace, New Relic, Datadog or comparable technologies.
• Experience enabling AI-assisted engineering or operational workflows using Copilot capabilities or comparable AI tools.
• Understanding of responsible AI, AI security, model or agent lifecycle governance and enterprise adoption controls.
• Strong consulting, facilitation, executive communication, stakeholder management, presentation and written communication skills.
• Ability to lead distributed, cross‑cultural teams and work effectively across multiple time zones when required.
• Tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to AI/ML frameworks and tools such as Python ML, Scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, Spark ML, or MLOps platforms.
• Experience with monitoring, observability, and APM tools such as ELK, Prometheus, New Relic, Dynatrace, and Nagios.
• Knowledge of capacity planning, incident response, and AI-based anomaly detection
• Experience with NoSQL and key-value data stores such as MongoDB, Redis, and Memcached.
• Understanding of web server technologies and cloud-native application architectures.
• Strong automation mindset with a vision for scalable, secure, resilient, and intelligent engineering environments
• Experience developing Agile/DevOps coaching aids, maturity assessment models, transformation playbooks, or reusable consulting assets.
