Job summary

Accenture is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer in Melbourne to lead infrastructure as code implementations across AWS and Azure. You will mentor developers, optimize pipelines, and guide configuration management practices while upholding DevOps principles for scalable cloud infrastructure.

You will collaborate with application teams, implement Terraform-driven solutions, and drive container orchestration using Kubernetes, with HashiCorp Vault responsibilities as optional enhancements.

Qualifications

• Experience with infrastructure as code and configuration management.
• Experience collaborating with developers to automate infrastructure.
• Proficient in DevOps practices including pipelines, repositories, and config mgmt.
• Terraform expertise across AWS and/or Azure.
• Strong scripting skills (Bash).
• Experience with Kubernetes orchestration and Docker containers.

What you’ll do

The Senior DevOps Engineer will lead the implementation and delivery of infrastructure as code and configuration management solutions across AWS and Azure cloud environments. This role focuses on mentoring developers in infrastructure automation and leading configuration management initiatives. The engineer will work closely with application development teams to foster infrastructure automation practices while maintaining DevOps principles focused on continuous integration and scalable cloud infrastructure solutions.

Due to the secure nature of this role, we are looking for candidates that has Australian citizenship and preferably with an active security clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead DevOps Culture Implementation: Champion and implement DevOps best practices across engineering teams, fostering collaboration between development and operations.

• Developer Collaboration: Work closely with application developers to adopt DevOps culture with a strong focus on infrastructure as code principles.

• Infrastructure Automation: Design and implement infrastructure as code solutions using Terraform for scalable and repeatable infrastructure provisioning.

• Pipeline Management: Architect and optimize DevOps pipelines and repository management strategies in any of the following (Azure DevOps, Gitlab, Github, Harness or other)

• Configuration Management: Implement and maintain configuration management solutions for consistent environment configurations.

• Container Orchestration: Lead implementation of Kubernetes container orchestration solutions for application deployment and scaling.

• Secrets Management: Implement and maintain HashiCorp Vault solutions for secure secrets management (optional but preferred).

• Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create comprehensive technical documentation and establish knowledge sharing practices across teams.

Here’s what you need:

• Extensive experience implementing infrastructure as code and configuration management solutions

• Proven experience working with application developers to adopt infrastructure automation practices focused on infrastructure as code

• Advanced proficiency with DevOps (Pipelines, Repositories, artifact management, config management, engineering)

• Expert-level experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code across AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms

• Strong experience with configuration management

• Advanced Bash scripting capabilities for automation

• Extensive experience with Kubernetes container orchestration

• Proficiency with Docker containers and containerization strategies

• Strong leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities

• Australian citizenship with continuous residency of atleast 3-5 years

Bonus points if with:

• HashiCorp Vault for secrets management experience

• OpenShift containers

• AI SDLC using and setting up AI agents
