Job summary

Shoalhaven City Council is seeking a Development Planner to join the Development Services Department in Ulladulla. You will assess a range of development applications, provide planning advice, and enforce relevant legislation to deliver sustainable land-use outcomes.

This role requires collaboration with stakeholders and a focus on public amenity and community wellbeing. The position starts at Grade 9–11 with the advertised salary of $103,766–$117,851 gross per annum plus 12% super.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of environmental planning legislation and ability to interpret the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in urban planning or related field.
• Current Class C Drivers' Licence required.
• NSW White Card (Construction Induction) required.
• Eligibility for corporate membership of the Planning Institute of Australia.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage development applications under delegated authority.
• Coordinate tasks to meet performance targets for processing DA's.
• Communicate with the public regarding DA notifications.
• Provide input into subdivision plan assessments.
• Address correspondence and resolve issues via notes, letters and reports.
• Mediation and negotiation to resolve conflicts among stakeholders.
