Job summary

Blunomy is an international consulting & data firm accelerating the move towards a regenerative society. We are seeking a Developer to join our Melbourne or Sydney team, with 1–3 years in software/data roles and a passion for energy transition and sustainability.

You will build data pipelines, APIs and distributed systems, write clean code in Python, and collaborate with clients and stakeholders to deliver timely results.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years’ experience in software development, data engineering or data science.
• Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Computing Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Maths or related fields.
• Strong software engineering and application development skills.
• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines, APIs or distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Knowledge of cloud computing (Azure, GCP, AWS).
• Experience with parallel or distributed computing frameworks is a plus.
• Fluency in English is mandatory; strong communication with clients and stakeholders.

Blunomy is an international consulting & data firm, dedicated to accelerating the move towards a regenerative society that is decarbonised, circular and inclusive. We do this by partnering with those in the energy supply chain as well as financial institutions, businesses and entrepreneurs to ensure the transition of their resources from brown to green.

We are looking for a passionate, engaging, and ambitious Developer to join our team in either Melbourne or Sydney. We invite all of those who want to break the mould to join us to take it from Intention to Impact!

About you

We are looking for a motivated and talented person. The right person will have some of the following and a willingness and ability to learn the rest:

• You are passionate about the energy transition and climate change, with a strong interest for energy, environment and/or sustainable development
• An undergraduate degree or a postgraduate in a relevant discipline such Computing Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Maths or related fields
• 1-3 years’ experience in software development, data engineering or data science will be highly regarded.
• Technical skills:
  • Strong software engineering and application development skills
  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines, APIs or distributed systems
  • Familiarity with source control (such as Git) and collaborative development practices
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Knowledge of cloud computing (such as Azure, GCP, AWS)
  • Experience with parallel or distributed computing frameworks is a plus.
• As well as:
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Ability to engage with clients and stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively to project timelines
  • Fluency in English is Mandatory

Recruitment Process

Eligibility: Candidates must be either an Australian citizen or have valid working rights in Australia.

2. 90 minute online test, testing basic data analytic skills, as well as critical thinking, numerical reasoning etc.
