Job summary

San Damiano College, Yarrabilba, established by Brisbane Catholic Education Office, seeks a passionate Secondary Teacher (Design Technologies - Materials, Furnishings and Construction) to inspire hands-on learning and practical design skills. The college opened in 2021 and will grow to Year 12 with a 5-stream model and a goal of about 1100 students.

Start date January 2027; 30 hours per week; Full-Time Continuing appointment.

Qualifications

• Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
• Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers

Responsibilities

• Creating a nurturing and ordered learning environment that is learner-centred, supportive, cooperative, and aligned with relevant curriculum policies, documents and practices
• Collaboratively developing and implementing quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy; evaluating their effectiveness; assessing and reporting student progress and learning outcomes; and reporting these to students, parents and the community
• Working collaboratively with the leadership team, teachers and other staff members in contributing to the professional life of the school and fostering a positive school culture
• Proactively engaging with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes
• Establishing positive relationships in the pastoral care of students and supporting their spiritual and moral development
• Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.
