Job summary

Mildura Rural City Council is seeking a Design Engineer to contribute to a diverse portfolio of civil infrastructure projects. You will engage across planning, investigation, design and delivery of roads, drainage and capital works to benefit the community.

The role requires a degree in Civil/Mechanical/Structural Eng and experience with road and drainage design, AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualifications in Civil, Mechanical or Structural Engineering with experience in civil design and construction.
  • Demonstrated experience in design of roads, drainage and related civil infrastructure projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to planning, investigation, design and delivery of roads, drainage and capital works.
  • Influence project outcomes across diverse civil infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare technical specifications and tender documentation; evaluate submissions.
  • Engage with consultants, contractors, authorities and community stakeholders.

What you will bring

Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:

  • Degree qualifications in Civil, Mechanical or Structural Engineering, with experience in civil engineering design and construction.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design of roads, drainage and associated civil infrastructure projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and related engineering design software.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while delivering quality outcomes within agreed timeframes and budgets.
  • Experience preparing technical specifications, tender documentation and evaluating contractor submissions.
  • Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with consultants, contractors, authorities, colleagues and community members.
Salary and conditions

The position is classified within Band 6 of Council’s Current Enterprise Agreement commencing at $96,410.60 per annum plus statutory superannuation.
