The Opportunity

ATLAS Recruitment is partnering with a well-established multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy to appoint a Design Director – Electrical or Mechanical / Building Services to support the delivery and growth of Data Centre and Critical Infrastructure projects.

This is a senior, client-facing leadership role combining technical excellence, business development, and project delivery within the Property & Buildings and Critical Infrastructure sectors. The role is open to candidates based in Melbourne, Sydney, or Perth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead business development activities including work winning, fee proposals and client presentations
• Build and maintain strong client relationships across Data Centre and Critical Infrastructure markets
• Act as Project Director / Project Leader on complex, mission-critical projects
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and coaching to electrical and building services teams
• Oversee design governance, risk management and delivery of high-reliability infrastructure
• Support recruitment, resourcing and performance management within the discipline
• Contribute to business management, innovation, digital delivery and process improvement
• Ensure compliance with WHS, QA, NCC and Integrated Management Systems

About You

• Degree qualified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or a related discipline
• Significant experience within a building services or multi-disciplinary consultancy
• Strong background delivering Data Centres, Critical Infrastructure or mission-critical facilities
• Proven track record of winning work and managing key client relationships
• Strong local market connectivity in Melbourne, Sydney or Perth
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
• Strong commercial acumen and financial management capability
• Eligible for professional engineer registration and relevant industry membership
