Job summary

Mott MacDonald seeks an experienced Design Manager to lead design delivery for a portfolio under the Project Delivery Services (PDS) Contract. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, manage programme and budget, and work with project managers and stakeholders to deliver compliant, high‑quality design solutions for complex infrastructure.

The role requires leadership in design management, strong stakeholder engagement, and experience in regulated environments, with a focus on safe design

Qualifications

• Proven design management experience on infrastructure projects.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership capabilities.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary design teams in regulated settings.
• Ability to apply governance requirements and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead resourcing, coordination and delivery of design packages across projects.
• Manage programme, scope, budget and design quality to ensure success.
• Collaborate with project managers, technical teams and stakeholders to deliver compliant solutions.
• Drive safe design practices and ensure compliance with standards and client requirements.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants to meet milestones on time and within budget.
• Support risk, change and document management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide clear, timely communication on progress, issues and actions.
• Contribute to team capability and technical leadership within design function.
