Job description

Manly Vale Public School is a newly built school in a bushland setting. It is located on Sydney's northern beaches right next to Manly Dam and currently with an enrolment of 546 students, with a capacity to accommodate up to 980 students. The newly built school has flexible learning spaces, and many devices (including laptops and iPads) to enhance the learning experience for all our students. Differentiated learning is provided in all lessons with support of an active Learning and Support team, and a High Potential and Gifted (HPGE) team. In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary 1.

• Proven expertise in leading inclusive education and wellbeing initiatives, including building staff capability to support diverse student needs effectively.
• Experience in working with and developing teachers to implement curriculum changes and support school-wide educational innovation and improvement.
• Demonstrated ability to build trust and good relationships with families and the community to support student learning and wellbeing and is a visible leader who can inspire and motivate the school community.

• 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
• 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
• 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
• 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
• 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
• 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
