Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School - Woodroffe is seeking a Deputy Principal to lead Catholic education, model faith, and collaborate with the Principal to oversee curriculum, staff development, pastoral care and community relations.

You will work to support teaching and learning across the Primary years, drive school improvement, and foster strong partnerships with families and the wider community, in a faith-filled educational environment.

Qualifications

• Member of Eucharistic community and committed to Catholic education.
• Holds postgraduate qualifications in Religious Education, Theology, or Educational Leadership.
• Experienced school leader with capacity to drive teaching, learning and school improvement.
• Eligible for NT teacher registration and Working with Children Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide faith-based leadership embedding Catholic values across school life.
• Support teaching and learning across Primary years with high pedagogy and outcomes.

The School:

Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School is a vibrant and inclusive Catholic learning community located in Woodroffe, Palmerston, in the Northern Territory. Catering for around 220 students from the Early Learning Centre through to Year 6, the school offers a close-knit, family-like atmosphere. As a systemic Catholic school under the Northern Territory Catholic Education Office, Sacred Heart provides a supportive and faith-filled environment for students, families, and staff alike.

The Position:

The Deputy Principal is a senior leadership position within a Catholic school. The role requires a person of faith and vision for Catholic education who models Catholic values and is able to communicate this vision clearly within the school community.

Working closely with the Principal, the Deputy Principal provides leadership to ensure the effective operation of all aspects of school life, supporting curriculum implementation, staff development, pastoral care and positive community relationships.

We are looking for a Deputy Principal who:

• Is committed to Catholic education and is a member of a Eucharistic community.
• Has strong Catholic leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to embed faith and values across school life.
• Holds postgraduate qualifications (or is undertaking studies) in Religious Education, Theology, or Educational Leadership.
• Is an experienced school leader with proven capacity to drive teaching, learning, and school improvement.
• Demonstrates strong pastoral care and staff development skills.
• Communicates effectively and has high-level organisational and administrative ability.
• Is eligible for NT teacher registration and holds (or can obtain) a Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).

This position will involve working with children. The appointment of the successful applicant will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment in accordance with legislation.
