Job summary

Australian Professional Galvanising – Mackay QLD is seeking an experienced Yard-Assistant for our Mackay Depot.

Role involves supporting yard operations, loading and unloading trucks with a forklift, and coordinating drop-offs and pickups of customer steel.

A Forklift License and basic computer skills are required, with load restraint training highly regarded and WH&S knowledge essential.

Australian Professional Galvanizing Pty Ltd formally Pollards Galvanizing was established in 1966 and has grown to become the only galvanizer in North Queensland.

APG has an excellent record in galvanizing and manufacturing steel products, features that combine to attract Australia's leading practitioners.

APG currently employs more than 80 staff over 3 locations.

Australian Professional Galvanizing is currently seeking an experienced Yard-Assistant for our Mackay Depot.

APG depot facilitates the drop off and pick up of customer steel for transport to & from our galvanizing plant in Townsville.

Previous experience in the steel industry, especially operating a forklift to load and unload trucks, is essential.

You will require Forklift License and must have basic working knowledge of computers (in-house system training provided).

Good communication and organizational skills along with a sound knowledge of WH&S.

Load restraint training is highly regarded to securing this position.

APG Offers Well Above Award Rates

The role is Full Time with 38 hours per week.
