Qualifications

• Bachelor of Dental Science or equivalent dental qualification.
• Current Medicare provider number / Registration number.
• Current Dental Prescriber number.
• High level of clinical competence and a commitment to high-quality dental services with a focus on public health principles.
• Excellent understanding of Infection Control Procedures.
• Advanced interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work as a team member.
• Commitment to continuing personal and professional development.
• Understanding of culturally and linguistically diverse communities and strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, effective and efficient dental services within clinical guidelines, including basic oral surgery and endodontic treatment.
• Respect patients' cultural beliefs and facilitate interpreters when required.
• Participate in outreach dental services, screening, early detection, and oral health promotion.
• Safely use and maintain dental equipment and report on its condition.
• Ensure compliance with national safety, infection control standards and dental record keeping audits.
• Provide professional support and direction to dental auxiliaries and staff.
• Support dental programs linked to alternative funding streams, including Medicare-funded programs.
• Participate in Oral Health team meetings and clinical peer reviews.
