Job summary

Maven Dental Cairns City on McLeod Street is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join the team full-time, supporting dentists chairside and assisting with oral surgery and Invisalign scans.

You'll work Monday to Friday with no weekend work, provide chairside support across general, restorative, and implant procedures, and help maintain room readiness and patient comfort in a friendly practice environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant
• Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting (essential)
• Knowledge of infection control and sterilisation protocols
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance across general, restorative and preventive treatments
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilise instruments per infection control standards
• Keep patients comfortable and informed, especially anxious ones
• Maintain accurate clinical notes and charting in the practice management software
• Assist with stock control and ordering for the surgery

We're looking for an experienced Dental Assistant to join our team full-time, supporting our dentists chairside. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced clinicians and expand your skills.

Job Description

This is a chairside role, suited to an experienced Dental Assistant who enjoys surgical work, or who has strong general experience and wants to build on it.

Working closely with our dentists, hygienists, Practice Manager and front office team, you'll help deliver exceptional patient care and support the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice.

What your days look like:

You’ll provide chairside support across a range of general, restorative and implant procedures while creating a positive experience for patients. You’ll also assist with oral surgery and Invisalign scans.

Monday to Friday, with no weekend work.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing chairside assistance across general, restorative and preventive treatments
• Preparing treatment rooms and sterilising instruments in line with infection control standards
• Keeping patients comfortable and informed, especially those who feel anxious
