Job summary

South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is recruiting a Dental Assistant Grade 1 for permanent full-time employment at the Kogarah Community Dental Clinic. The role supports clinical delivery across multiple sites, ensuring high-quality oral health care for eligible clients.

Applicants should have a Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent, solid infection-control knowledge, and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent recognised by the DACE Australia or significant experience and willingness to complete the qualification.
• Demonstrated knowledge of current infection control principles and practices.
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and exercise independent professional judgement.
• Demonstrated computer skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel for work purposes within SESLHD.

The Role

An exciting opportunity exists within South Eastern Sydney Local Health District for an experienced Full Time Dental Assistant Grade 1 to join our professional multi-sited, multi-disciplinary Oral Health team.

Provide clinical support and assist with the efficient delivery of a high quality Oral Health service to eligible clients in South Eastern Sydney Local Health District.

Selection Criteria

• Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent recognised by the Dental Assistant Education Council of Australia or significant experience as a Dental Assistant and willingness to complete the Certificate III qualification.
• Demonstrated knowledge of current infection control principles and practices.
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to exercise independent professional judgement on routine matters, commensurate with years of experience.
• Demonstrated computer skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel for work purposes within SESLHD.
