Job summary

The Department of Health, Tasmania is looking for qualified and motivated Dental Assistants to join our public dental service. Successful candidates will provide professional chairside assistance and maintain high infection control standards, contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team.

The role offers annual pay between $76,849 and $82,996 plus a 12% superannuation contribution. Applicants should have a Certificate III in Dental Assisting and may be required to hold a Working with Children Registration.

Qualifications

• Must have a Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent qualification.
• Working with Children Registration (where applicable).
• Current Driver’s Licence preferred.
• Current First Aid Certificate Level I preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional chairside assistance to dental clinicians.
• Maintain high standards of infection control and cleanliness.
• Prepare and manage dental equipment and materials.
• Assist with appointment scheduling and client enquiries.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary oral health team.
