Job summary

1300SMILES Gladstone is hiring casual Dental Assistants to support our dentists chairside and maintain smooth daily operations across our Gladstone practices.

You will assist with general, restorative and preventive treatments, ensure patient comfort, and help keep the clinical workflow efficient. Flexibility to work across Monday to Saturday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm, is essential as shifts vary with practice needs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting.
• Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting is highly regarded.
• Strong knowledge of sterilisation and infection control.
• Ability to anticipate needs, prioritise tasks and stay organised.
• Calm, capable approach during busy periods.
• Confidence to support junior team members and share knowledge.
• Strong communication and collaborative attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide confident chairside assistance across a broad range of dental procedures.
• Prepare surgeries and anticipate clinicians' needs during treatment.
• Keep appointments running efficiently and support clinical workflow.
• Maintain high standards of sterilisation and infection control.
• Manage clinical stock, equipment and surgery organisation.
• Help patients feel comfortable and supported throughout treatment.
• Take initiative during busy periods and work with wider teams to deliver care.

Job Description

We're looking for friendly, motivated and adaptable Casual Dental Assistants to support our dentists chairside and help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of our practices.

What your days look like:

You’ll assist with a range of general, restorative and preventive treatments, helping patients feel comfortable while ensuring our clinical teams are well supported.

Shifts vary depending on the practice needs and leave coverage. Applicants must have full-day availability Monday to Saturday, between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, with flexibility to work across these days as required.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing confident chairside assistance across a broad range of dental procedures


• Preparing surgeries and anticipating clinicians' needs throughout treatment


• Keeping appointments running efficiently and supporting clinical workflow


• Maintaining high standards of sterilisation and infection control


• Managing clinical stock, equipment and surgery organisation


• Helping patients feel comfortable and supported throughout their treatment


• Taking ownership of tasks and using your initiative during busy periods


• Working collaboratively with the wider practice teams to deliver excellent patient care
