1300SMILES Chinchilla, part of the Abano Healthcare network, is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to support dentists and the hygiene team in a busy, well-run surgery. You'll chairside assist across general, restorative and preventive treatments, prepare rooms and instruments, and maintain infection control in line with ADA guidelines.

A Certificate III in Dental Assisting is required, plus a calm, reassuring manner with nervous patients.

Responsabilités

• Provide chairside assistance across general, restorative and preventive treatments.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and materials before each appointment.
• Clean, sterilise and reprocess instruments following ADA guidelines.
• Keep patients comfortable and informed, especially those who feel anxious.
• Update clinical notes and charting in the practice management software.
• Assist with stock control and ordering for the surgery.

1300SMILES Chinchilla is a four-dentist practice with a reputation for gentle care with nervous patients, and it needs an experienced dental assistant to help keep it that way. The practice provides general and restorative dentistry to patients across Chinchilla and the Western Downs. It's also known for meticulous dentistry, a personal touch with every patient and a warm welcome at the front desk.

Job Description

This full-time role suits an experienced Dental Assistant who takes pride in a well-run surgery and a calm patient experience. You'll work chairside alongside our dentists, supporting a wide variety of treatments and helping each appointment run smoothly. You'll also work closely with the hygiene team, the practice manager and the front desk team.

What your days look like:

Your appointments will cover the full range of general care, from check-ups and fillings to crowns, root canal treatment and extractions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing chairside assistance across general, restorative and preventive treatments
• Preparing treatment rooms, instruments and materials before each appointment
• Cleaning, sterilising and reprocessing instruments in line with ADA infection control guidelines
• Keeping patients comfortable and informed, especially those who feel anxious
• Updating clinical notes and charting in the practice management software
• Helping with stock control and ordering for your surgery

Qualifications

To succeed in the role, you will bring:

• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant and/or a Certificate III in Dental Assisting (or higher)
• Sound knowledge of infection control and sterilisation protocols
• Confidence using dental practice management software
• A calm, reassuring manner with nervous patients
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Reliability, and a willingness to share your experience with newer team members
• The right to work in Australia
